Application & Club Rules
Must be 18 years of age or older to have a membership.
Memberships include immediate family members, children until 18th birthday unless that family member is currently enrolled as a student in high school, a trade school or college after which that family member needs to purchase their own membership. (Does not apply to disabled household members.)
Must be 18 to be on Club property without an adult member, and 18 to possess a firearm without direct supervision of an instructor, parent, guardian or spouse age 18 or older
Members are responsible for family member’s and guest’s actions.
Carry your membership card with you. If you need additional cards, indicate that on your application.
Members may bring a guest one time for a visit and to check out the Club, after that they must become a member to use the Club facilities except for “Open to the Public” shoots.
A new application must be filled out and signed with each annual renewal to receive your new membership card and combination. This includes lifetime members.
Application renewals will be mailed in late October/early November and if returned by December 15th, you will be mailed your card & gate combination before it changes on January 1st. Renewals received between December 15th – December 31st will be mailed out in January.
Annual memberships are $105 annually and are not pro-rated. If purchased by December 31st for the following year, pay only $80.
Membership Requirements:
Club Security:
Gate combinations will not be shared with non-members, family members 17 years or younger or to those who have “lost” their card or otherwise don’t have it with them.
Always close and lock the gate after entering or exiting the club, even if there are others using the club when you leave unless it is open shoot or a group activity.
Spin the dials on the lock when locking the gate.
Report suspicious activity to a board member or to Marion County Sheriff at 641-828-2220.
These rules are ALWAYS in effect!
ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to shoot.
Know your target and what is beyond.
Know how to use your gun safely.
Be sure the gun is safe to operate.
Use only the correct ammunition and target for your gun.
Eye and ear protection is required.
NEVER use alcohol, prescription, over-the-counter, or other drugs which may impair judgment before or while shooting.
No hunting on the Club grounds without express permission of the Board of Directors.
Fundamental Firearms Safety Rules:
Rifle / Handgun Range:
Show other shooters on the range the same courtesy you would like to be shown. The Golden Rule thing!
Honor calls for cease fire for target maintenance by placing firearms down and in a safe condition.
Try to leave unused benches clearly open for other members.
Shoot only on the prescribed range and use a target for your caliber of firearm only.
Clean up your mess, this includes targets, shell casings, etc.
Bring your own targets. Do not shoot Club equipment, glass or other dangerous objects as targets.
Targets containing tannerite or other explosive materials are prohibited.
Trap / Skeet:
Please use the skeet range with the hand thrower if there are shooters at the rifle range for everyone’s safety.
Open toed shoes are prohibited (including Croc’s and sandals)
Camping:
Campers wanting to stay longer than three (3) days need to check with the Board of Directors prior to their stay.
No electricity or water provided. Camping sites are primitive.
**10 inch minimum size on Crappie**
**14 inch minimum size on Bass**
No minnows.
No swimming.
Only boats with manual power (oars or paddles) and electric motors are allowed.
Boats shouldn’t be left on club grounds.
All persons within a boat must have a Personal Floatation Device.
Club not responsible for accidents.
Fishing Pond:
Minors & Firearms:
A person under the age of 18 may possess a rifle or shotgun and its ammunition for lawful use while under the direct supervision of the person’s parent, guardian or spouse who is 18 or older, or while receiving instruction in the proper use of a rifle or shotgun from an instructor who is 18 or older.
A person between 14 and 18 may be allowed to possess a pistol or revolver or it’s ammunition while under the direct supervision of the person’s parent, guardian or spouse who is 18 or older, or while receiving instruction in the proper use of a handgun from an instructor who is 18 or older.
General:
Federal/State Firearm Laws are in force on the premises.
Members may not use Club property or their membership privileges to make a profit either personally or for their business without board approval.
Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on Club property
Application:
Print and complete the membership application.
Enclose a check for membership dues.
